Autumn Handcraft Harvest Festival

The City of Lawrence’s Autumn Handcraft Harvest Festival will be held 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, in historic South Park, 1141 Massachusetts St. The annual show brings artisans from all across Kansas and surrounding states, providing a unique atmosphere to appeal to all shoppers and craftspeople. I'll be there with rainbow starbursts, rainbow strings, the DIY rainbow string station, earrings, AND Halloween strings and big "spiderweb" starbursts! I'll be donating 20% of my sales to Clare's Community Closet, for purchasing supplies for winter care kits for the community. I'll also be collecting supplies to bring to Clare, so feel free to drop off things like socks, gloves, hats, scarves, and handwarmers. Hope to see you there!

Lawrence Art in the Park

Art in the Park is a fine arts and crafts event hosted yearly by the Lawrence Art Guild. Held since 1964, it is the Lawrence Art Guild's largest fundraising event of the year. It has won "Best Event" in the Best of Lawrence contest every year since 2019. This is my first year attending! I'll have rainbow starbursts, rainbow strings, a DIY rainbow string station, and earrings made from the plastic bits generated when drilling plastic waste. 20% of my sales will be donated between Lawrence Art Guild, Lawrence Humane Society, and Just Food. Saturday 10-6 and Sunday 10-5

Kids' Action Club Silent Art Auction and Reception

Kids' Action Club at Lawrence Public Library is hosting another silent auction art sale! This year the proceeds will benefit the Lawrence Humane Society. In-person bidding is open through 7:30 pm on Friday, August 18th. Final bids may be placed during the Art Reception beginning at 6:30 pm.

In the silent auction you will find original artwork by the kids of KAC, as well as donations from local artists, including one of the 24 arm rainbow starbursts I've been making. These take a lot more time than the regular 12 arm starbursts because there is a lot more "behind the scenes" work of wiring individual lids together so the piece stays stable. I think the time is worth it because I just love how they turn out!

Spring for Handmade

Friday, May 12th from 3-9 pm, in Building 21 at the Fairgrounds, come see tons of local crafters and artisans and shop for Mother's Day, or just because. I'll be there with rainbow strings, starbursts, earrings, and a DIY rainbow string station. I'll be donating 25% of the day's sales to KSPHQ. Hope to see you there!
